Applications of BBa_K342001

Results

A E. coli bacteria had been transformed with the pILI1 plasmid, which contains the phaCAB operon. This recombinant bacteria had been spread on LB agar plates, with or without 7% of glucose and nile red dye. As you can see on the photos below, the bacteria appear pink colored, directly on plates supplemented with glucose (on the left photo). However, the control without glucose doesn't reveal a pink coloration (on the right photo).

With a liquid culture on LB complemented with glucose (7%) and nile red dye, we observed the fluorescence by microscopy.
