Glutathione S-transferase internal domain

This is a GST internal domain designed to be between protein domains. GST domains are a type of affinity domain that can be used to purify and detect of proteins.

Usage and Biology

The glutathione S-transferase (GST) protein domain enables one-step non-denaturing purification of proteins using a glutathione-agarose column. The GST protein domain can be places on either the N- or C-terminus of proteins. In some cases, fusion to GST can increase the expression and/or solubility of the fused protein. GST can also be used to immobilize proteins.
