modified_sfGFP
sfGFP is a variant of Green Fluorescence Protein from Aequorea victoria and has the following parameters [1]:
Ex : Peak excitation wavelength (in nm) | 485 |
---|---|
Em: Peak emission wavelength (in nm) | 510 |
EC: Extinction Coefficient (M-1 cm-1) | 83,300 |
QY: Quantum Yield | 0.65 |
Brightness | 54.15 |
Maturation (min) | 13.6 |
Usage and Biology
sfGFP can be used to report protein production or in systems where fluorescence is required like FRET. In BBa_K3889102, BBa_K3889110 and BBa_K3889122 we planned to use sfGFP as a reporter for ovastacin, xylR and mf-Lon production respectively in Bacillus subtilis 168. In BBa_K3889130, sfGFP along with BBa_J06504 for checking terminator efficiency in Bacillus subtilis 168.
