The promoter [https://parts.igem.org/Part:BBa_J23106 BBa_J23106], a constitutive Anderson Promoter, initiates the production of TetR. TetR represses the PtetO promoter, producing NarL. In the presence of nitrate, NarX phosphorylates NarL. Therefore, phosphorylated NarL measures nitrate levels. By using the corrected difference, our NarP (Lambert_GA iGEM’s NarP composite part [https://parts.igem.org/Part:BBa_K3411010 BBa_K3411010]) and NarL composite parts can evaluate nitrate levels.
