The device consists of a RBS (BBa_B0032) and the encoding region of the chromoprotein eforRed. This part is a subpart of BBa_K1073022 and does not include a promoter.


Usage and Biology

This part does not include a promoter, thus the expression of eforRed can be adjusted by using varied promoters. During cultivation the chromoprotein eforRed is expressed and stored intracellular. The red color of the protein can be seen by naked eye, thus you can use the chromoprotein as a selection marker and seperate cells easily.
