Applications of BBa_I716211

10/27/10: This part induces cell death when expressed. We (the 2010 Harvard iGEM team) received this part from the Anderson lab at Berkeley as part of an arabinose-inducible Barnase device that also contained a constitutive Barstar. Barstar is another protein that prevents Barnase from killing the cell. In our experience Barstar is required to even be able to clone Barnase, because Barnase is so potent.

10/27/10: Part works well, arabinose inducible Barnase caused cell death in a dose dependent manner. Please see http://2010.igem.org/Team:Harvard/fences/results for more info.

UT-Tokyo 2015 improved this part(part:BBa_K1631000) and characterize it !

We added a start codon to this part and succeeded to control the growth rate of E coli(JM109).

We induced this parts and [Plac -rbs- GFP -d.term] with 100μM IPTG. [Plac -rbs- GFP -d.term] is negative control.

We also evaluated the growth rate by slope of next graph.
