This part is derived from pSB1AC3-P1010.  pSB1AC3-P1010 was cut with NotI (to remove the insert) and then religated together.  Thus, pSB1AC0 is the empty plasmid in which the BioBricks cloning site has been partially destroyed.  The EcoRI and PstI sites remain.  This empty plasmid is a useful control in characterization experiments.  This plasmid serves as a point of comparison to constructs of interest.  Hence effects on morphology, fluorescence, growth rate etc. by the plasmid itself can be accounted for.

pSB1AC0

This part is derived from pSB1AC3-P1010. pSB1AC3-P1010 was cut with NotI (to remove the insert) and then religated together. Thus, pSB1AC0 is the empty plasmid in which the BioBricks cloning site has been partially destroyed. The EcoRI and PstI sites remain. It is a useful control in characterization experiments. This plasmid serves as a point of comparison to constructs of interest. Hence effects on morphology, fluorescence, growth rate etc. by the plasmid itself can be accounted for.
