RFC12 cMyc Tag Head Domain

This is a RFC12 compatible version of BBa_T2007. It is a cMyc tag head domain meant for N-terminal fusions.

Usage and Biology

cMyc tags are commonly used for detection purposes but not usually purity due to the fact that the matrix cannot be easily regenerated, the low pH elution may affect the product, and the non-specificity of the antibodies used can mean impure product.

Common tag information:

  • Protein Sequence: EQKLISEEDL
  • Matrix: Monoclonal Antibody
  • Yield/Purity: Fairly low yields and commonly low purity
  • # Steps: One step
  • Fusion Location: N-terminus (C-terminus is BBa_J70623)
  • Affects Function?: Tag will likely not, but the low pH elution may
