High copy BioBrick assembly plasmid
pSB1AC3 is a high copy number plasmid carrying ampicillin and chloramphenicol resistance. The replication origin is a pUC19-derived pMB1 (copy number of 100-300 per cell). For the version of this plasmid with a CcdB insert, see BBa_P1010.

Usage and Biology
- Chloramphenicol resistant up to 3500 ug/ml. Tetracycline sensitive at 1.5 ug/ml. Kanamycin sensitive at 5 ug/ml (spayne and tk 6/6/05)
- Chloramphenicol resistant up to 800 ug/ml - tested with E. coli DH5alpha according to the standardized procedure (Wiegand et al., Agar and broth dilution methods to determine the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of antimicrobial substances. Nature Protocols 3(2), 163-175, 2008)
- Primers for these Biobrick vectors can be found in Part:BBa_G00100 (aka VF2) and Part:BBa_G00101 (aka. VR). See also Part:BBa_J18907 (aka VR2) for lower temperature sequencing reactions.
- This vector is also available in the Fusion (Freiburg) Biobrick format: Part:BBa_J18901 (pSB1AC3F)
