This device was successfully employed in BBa_K1073035 to mediate ampicillin resistance in the presence of RhlR and N-buturyl-HSL. Due to the low level leakiness of the promoter cells also grow when N-buturyl-HSL is not present. However, growth is much higher when both RhlR and N-buturyl-HSL are present.
