Usage and Biology

In combination with N-3-oxo-dodecanoyl-HSL synthesized by LasI, LasR is able to activate the inducible promoter of the las quorum sensing system of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

LasR binds to specific sequences in the promoter region. In the presence of N-3-oxo-dodecanoyl-HSL it activates gene expression (Medina et al., 2003).
