ketoisocaproate decarboxylase (THI3); converts alpha-ketoisocaproate to 3-methylbutanal

This part catalyzes the second step in isoamyl alcohol biosynthesis. It converts alpha-ketoisocaproate to 3-methylbutanal via enzymatic reaction 4.1.1.1. 3-methylbutanal is then reduced via a alcohol dehydrogenase to isoamyl alcohol (the precursor to isoamyl acetate or banana scent).
