UGT85A1

Coding for a UDP-glycosyltransferase found in Schizonepeta tenuifolia. Generates rhodioloside from UDP-glucose and tyrosol. This UDP-glycosyltransferase is found to be the most suitable one to form rhodioloside.

Characterizaion

In 2023 HiZJU-China, UGT85A1 gene is used for generating salidroside using UDP-glucose and tyrosol. It is proven to make use of tyrosol produced by ARO10-adh6(BBa_K4761200) and generate salidroside with a stable yield(over 7mg/L and 12mg/L with and without pgm-galU(BBa_K4761201), in 1/50 inoculated M9 broth).

Fig.1 Salidroside peaks when both ARO10-adh6 and UGT85A1 transformed into chassis ((a)without (b)with enhancement from pgm-galU). While no peaks found when only ARO10-adh6 transformed.
