Light-inducible Insulin GFP

This light-inducible system uses the optogenetic transcription factor VPEL-222 to drive gene expression.3 C120 repeats allows binding of EL-222 domain of the transcription factor. Once bound, VPEL-222's VP-16 activator domain drives expression of genes downstream of C120 repeats. Here, we drove a preproinsulin gene.
