Part:BBa_K925007
MyToxic
This part was designed to bind toxic metals; cadmium, mercury and cobalt. This was done by inserting flexible linkers between the metal binding sites. The linkers were used because they were quite flexible and prevented hairpins in the structure.

Description
The aim of this part was to produce a protein that would act as a general metal scavenger. This protein was designed to bind to toxic metals; cadmium, mercury and cobalt. This was done by inserting flexible linkers between the metal binding sites. This prevented hairpins in the structure stopping binding site function.
Characterisation
No characterisation has been done.

Conclusion
This part has been succesfully ligated into a standard iGEM vector but no expression or characterisation work has been done.
