Ctx-CheZ
V.cholerae ctx promoter followed by a chemotaxis regulator gene, CheZ. Transcription of CheZ takes place in the presence of a ToxR dimer.
CheZ is one of the 6 Che proteins used in chemotaxis. CheZ is a phosphatase which dephosphorylates CheY which in turn allows the cell to run and tumble. If CheZ is absence, CheY is phosphorylated, and the cell tumbles exclusively.
