The encoded protein specifically recognizes plastic PLA (polylactic acid),We used this anchoring peptide to modify the gold nanoparticles to give them the ability to aggregate when they meet the corresponding microplastics. This aggregation, caused by microplastics, produces a color change that is visible to the naked eye, which can then be detected by RGB sensors. Secondly, spectral scanning by UV spectrophotometer can also quantitatively detect the effect of plastics, i.e. concentration.
