S. aureus targetting peptide 3
This 23mer peptide finds specifically to S. aureus. It was listed by Tian et al in 2022 and originally identified by Xiong et al in 2017. In the 2017 study, the authors used phage display to determine this peptide sequence to be capable of binding to S. aureus. The authors were interested in detection rather than killing of S. aureus in the study. Nevertheless, by using the peptide conjugated to FITC, they were ale to use florescent detection to identify S. aureus in multiple environments including spiked lake water, human urine, and apple juice.
