T7 terminator
- T7 terminator, in molecular biology, typically refers to the terminator sequence associated with T7 RNA polymerase. T7 RNA polymerase is an enzyme derived from the Escherichia coli bacteriophage T7 and is widely used in in vitro transcription experiments to synthesize RNA molecules. In a transcription reaction using T7 RNA polymerase, the terminator sequence is a specific DNA sequence that marks the end of transcription. When T7 RNA polymerase transcribes RNA along a DNA template, it stops upon reaching the terminator sequence, resulting in an RNA molecule of a specific length.
