FastPETase
PETase is a protein isolated from Ideonella Sakeinsis, that is found to degrade PET plastics into PET and MHET monomers. FastPETase is a synthetically modified version of PETase that was designed to be more efficient and heat-tolerant. This gene was successfully implemented in Level 0 and Level 1 plasmid construct, and transformed into E.Coli. Current attempts are to create a Level 2 plasmid in conjunction with MHETase, and transforming into Alteromonas macleodii.
