Destructin-2

This part encodes a protein produced by Pseudogymnoascus destructans (P. destructans) and is a serine protease. This has been demonstrated to be one of six peptidases that P. destructan uses to degrade peptide bonds to infect bat hosts. Shares 90% amino acid identity with Destructin-1.The full sequence for this protein includes a leader peptide for extracellular secretion and a putative inhibitory peptide that is cleaved to form the mature protein.
