Super folded Green fluorescent protein
The sfGFP is a variant of the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) engineered for enhanced folding efficiency. It was developed to overcome issues related to protein misfolding that commonly affect GFP in some environments, such as during expression in complex protein fusions, sfGFP includes mutations that improve its folding kinetics, making it more stable and fluorescent even under denaturing conditions which allows it to be a reliable marker in experiments requiring protein tracking or visualization in vivo [1].
