merR m4-1 variant
The merR m4-1 variant is a mutant of merR tn21 in D68G/L88M/H91R/V109E/S111T that allows it to have higher affinity to DNA and to be sensitive to organic mercury species such as methylmercury, ethylmercury and phenylmercury nitrate. It has a higher affinity for inorganic mercury.
The gene sequence was obtained from Zhu et al. (2023).
