Design Notes

The adh2 gene from Saccharomyces cerevisiae may have different functions and characteristics in different species. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, the adh2 gene encodes ethanol dehydrogenase II, which is involved in the process of converting aldehyde to ethanol; in Escherichia coli, the adh2 gene may be related to fermentative alcohol dehydrogenase, and its expression is regulated by anaerobic conditions.
