darB
DarB is a gene in the biosynthetic gene cluster that produces darobactin A. It is part of the darABCDE operon. DarBCD encodes for an ABC-type trans-envelope exporter system. DarB and darD encode for the transporter (A membrane fusion protein is encoded by darC). DarB is transcribed with the darA, darC, darD, and darE genes to produce darobactin A. This gene was sequenced and characterized by researchers at the Lewis Lab of Northeastern University (Imai et. al).
