P2A
P2A peptide is a short sequence that causes ribosome skipping during translation, allowing the production of two distinct proteins from one mRNA strand. The mechanism is based on ribosomal pausing, which skips the formation of a peptide bond. It can be used to express multiple proteins from a single open reading frame. P2A protein sequence is derived from the porcine teschovirus-1.
