T2A
T2A peptide is a short sequence that causes ribosome skipping during translation, allowing the production of two distinct proteins from one mRNA strand. The mechanism is based on ribosomal pausing, which skips the formation of a peptide bond. It can be used to express multiple proteins from a single open reading frame. T2A protein sequence is derived from the Thosea asigna virus.
