RIB7, GTP cyclohydrolase II from Saccharomyces cerevisiae
RIB7 encodes for diaminohydroxyphoshoribosylaminopyrimidine deaminase in S. cerevisiae. This enzyme catalyzes the second step of the riboflavin biosynthesis pathway, transforming 2,5-diamino-6-(5-phospho-D-ribosylamino)-pyrimidin-4(3H)-one (DARPP) to 2,5-diamino-6-ribitylamino-4(3H)-pyrimidinone 5 -phosphate (DArPP) (Gudipati et al., 2014).

Usage and Biology
RIB7 is a riboflavin synthase. Overexpression of RIB7 could lead to overproduction of vitamin B2 in S. cerevisiae.
