Synthetic construct insecticidal Cry2Aa delta-endotoxin

Many lepidopteran species became resistant to the commonly used Cry toxins. Using a Cry toxin gene containing high levels of insecticidal-specific activity may be one way to overcome this challenge. Engineered Cry2Aa toxins showed enhanced toxicity against lepidopteran insects. As a result, this engineered Cry2Aa toxin can be used to generate toxins that will protect crops from insect pest damage. The following construct is a full coding sequence of synthetic insecticidal Cry2Aa delta-endotoxin.
