ARO10

ARO10 is derived from S.cerevisiae genome. It encodes for a 2-ketoacid decarboxylase which catalyses the reaction from 2-ketoacid to an aldehyde. It is included in our composite part with ADH7 (alcohol dehydrogenase) and ATF1 (alcohol acetyltransferase), which are transformed into the genome of S.cerevisiae simultaneously for overexpression to produce isoamyl acetate.


Usage and Biology

ARO10 is derived from the genome of S.cerevisiae, encoding for a 2-ketoacid decarboxylase. During the fermentation of yeast, it terminates the recursive pathway, which catalyzes the elongation of a 2-ketoacid by one carbon atom, by converting the 2-ketoacid to an aldehyde.
