N-terminal type III secretion signal

In one part of our project "PeuPomona", we investigated the secretion capacity of P. fluorescens to secrete sfGFP (part BBa_K4244002) into the root epidermis of Arabidopsis thaliana Col-0. The secretion signal plays a pivotal role in the recognition of the secretion-protein by chaperons and, in contrast to other bacterial secretion signals, is non being cleaved in the secretion process (He et al., 2004). In our experiments, we used the Type 3 secretion signal as desribed in Jensen et al. (2022) and fused it to the N-terminal part of sfGFP.
