Promoter of 50S ribosomal protein L28

Usage and Biology

It’s a constitutive promoter in Agrobacterium tumefaciens str.C58 genome, encoding the synthetic 50S ribosomal protein L28^[1]. The 420bp upstream sequence of this gene was selected as this promoter.

We used this promoter for the expression of biosafety module phototoxic proteins and characterized it using Green Fluorescent Protein (GFPuv, BBa_M45116). Through fluorescence microscope observation, it can be seen that the colonies and bacterial liquid precipitates have obvious fluorescence.
