Usage
This is one of the E.coli fluorescent protein detection gene circuits in the BIT-China 2023 IGEM project "Light's control iT".

Biology
When el222 gene is expressed, the photosensitive transcription factor EL222 is generated. Under 450nm illumination, the photosensitive transcription factor EL222 is dimerized, binds to the PBLind promoter, and activates the transcription and expression of the downstream green fluorescent gene (egfp).
