Part:BBa_K4616005
a promoter controlled by el222(K4616138).
Usage
Pc120 is a promoter regulated by el222(BBa_K4616138). When EL222 functions as a transcription factor, Pc120 facilitates the expression of downstream genes, thus establishing the fundamental framework of the photocontrol system. Finally, the genes synthesizing sclareol are expressed under blue light irradiation.
Biology
EL222 is a photosensitive transcription factor comprising two functional domains. One is the Light-Oxygen-Voltage (LOV) sensing domain, which responds to light at 450nm, leading to homologous dimerization of EL222. The second domain is the Helix-Turn-Helix (HTH) DNA-binding domain, which specifically recognizes and binds to the C120 repeat sequence[1].
