T7 terminator

  • The T7 terminator is paired with the T7 promoter, which is a strong promoter. The T7 promoter/terminator pair comes from the T7 bacteriophage.

This virus infects the E. coli bacterial cell thanks to its T7 RNA polymerase. It is able to integrate its genetic material with that of the host cell to make copies. The terminator can thus be used with its promoter to produce highly efficient copies of a gene of interest.
