Design Notes

The Lettuce split aptamer was developed by researchers at the Weill-Cornell Medical College using the SELEX (systematic evolution of ligands by exponential enrichment) process. For the purposes of Lambert iGEM, the sequence complementary to the right portion of the target— the middle sequence complement within the Rolling Circle Product— was added to the 5’ end of the Lettuce right sequence.
