Overview
Cecropin B isoform Q53 is an enhanced Cecropin B that shows increased antimicrobial ability against bacteria such as P. aeruginosa. This part is derived from the following publication: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31045339/
Usage and Biology
Cecropin B Q53 is a naturally produced antimicrobial peptide isolated from Bombyx mori, this isoform differs from the other isoform E53 by replacing a single peptide; glutamic acid by glutamine. This peptide demonstrates strong antimicrobial properties against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria. Furthermore, this peptide demonstrates high stability to pH and temperature variations as well as tolerance to high-salt concentration and low-toxicity to human cells.
