AIDA signal sequence
Signal sequence of the AIDA-I autotransporter derived from pRAIDA2.1 Will be cleaved prior to secretion of the autotransporter. Must be used together with the autotransporter to allow display of a protein of interest (POI) on the bacterial surface. The gene encoding for the POI is to be inserted downstream of the signal sequence and upstream of the autotransporter. The AIDA-I autotransporter part can be found here: BBa_K3861016. We combined the parts to create a construct with the potential ability to display the recombinant lectin rBC2LCN (BBa_K3861001) on the surface of bacterial minicells in order to enable active targeting of MCF7 breast cancer cells by attaching to glycans on the cancer cell surface (BBa_K3861018).
