SMT3

Small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) is a reversible post-translational modification and SMT3 is a homologue of yeast SUMO, which plays important roles in numerous biological processes. SMT3 could be covalently attached to target proteins in an isopeptide bond manner that occurs via a lysine ε-amino group on the target proteins and the glycine on SMT3 C-terminus. This covalent binding could affect the subcellular localization and stability of target proteins. In our project, SMT3 is applied to help increase the expression of lipase ANL. SMT3 and our lipase ANL are connected with GS-linker.
