Balac

Balac is a highly chloride tolerant laccase produced by the plant pathogen ascomycete Botrytis aclada, which can be recombinantly expressed in Pichia pastoris with an extremely high yield and purified to homogeneity. Balac effectively degrades residual lignin and enables the lignin in the paper to degrade into monomers. It can also directly interact with lignin to generate phenoxy free radicals on the fiber surface which contributes to the strength of paper, especially the wet strength. Furthermore, Balac is able to degrade phenols in ink or toner, paper fillers and non-phenolic compounds which enables the deinking wastewater to meet the discharge standard. Finally, Balac also has excellent PH stability and temperature stability, which can both satisfy our deinking demand and environmental protection demand whose sequence is from GenBank JN559771.1.
