Design Notes

We found that of various heat shock proteins, dnaK and dnaJ are two of the most frequently differentially expressed in E. coli upon transformation with a heterologous circuit. As a result, we use the dnaKJ operon promoter as one representative of promoters related to the heat shock response.

This sequence also includes the RBS normally before dnaK in E. coli and any spacers required; as a result, it can be placed directly before the CDS.
