Type I toxin-antitoxin system is one of the five types of toxin-antitoxin systems found in prokaryotes. The antitoxin gene encodes an RNA binding with the mRNA of toxin gene to inhibit its expression. The toxic protein is may be a small hydrophobic protein that disrupt cell membrane. hokA is the toxic protein of hokA/sokA toxin-antitoxin system.It can probably be neutralized by RNA SokA.
