Design Notes

Domain Z works as a spacer between two anchor peptides. The spacer can be variated to a more or less flexible spacer to fit different connections between anchor peptides.

Protein A is a cell wall bound pathogenicity factor from the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus. Domain Z is an IgG-binding domain of SpA.
