Usage and Biology
This is an intermediate part of the oscillatory system which can be used to build our final modular biosensor BBa_K3440021. LuxR which is originally from Vibrio Fischeri (UniProtKB - P12746), is constitutively expressed under the J23100 promoter. In the presence of 3OC6-HSL (a lactone produced by LuxI from Vibrio Fischeri, UniProtKB - P12747), the LuxR:3OC6-HSL complex can activate Plux, which controls production of MtrB. This oscillatory part will be present in Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 mtrb knockout. As this part is an intermediate in making the final oscillatory system it cannot be characterized individually unless added into BBa_K3440021.
