Design Notes

The STE12 transcription factor is activated downstream of the MAPK cascade when phosphorylated by Fus3p. It then binds to the pheromone response element (PREs) upstream of the target genes, we therefore exploit this mechanism to make the activated STE12 bind to the promoter of our reporter gene i.e. pFIG1
