Aalto-Helsinki attempted to characterize this part in Vibrio natriegens by cloning and expressing it. We were unsuccessful as we found the CDS always mutated during the cloning phase. We used a vector with a low copynumber p15A ori and a tight pRhaB promoter, with which we had no problems when working with other genes (YGFP and TfoX). This implies that the gene is extremely toxic to Vibrio natriegens cells.
