Promoter->RBS->LacI->Double Terminator

Repressors are regulatory proteins that, when produced, block transcription of the gene circuit they are regulating. Repressors are inactive once a particular molecule or substance is present to halt its activity. This part consists of a constitutive promoter, RBS, Lac Repressor, and Double Terminator (B0014). This part will express the lac repressor, which blocks circuit expression regulated by the Lac Promoter. It can be used with the Lac Promoter to create an inducible operon by lactose or IPTG.
