Lactose Operator and Negative Induction System
Lactose operons are a group of genes involved in lactose decomposition. They are composed of repressors and manipulation sequences of the lactose system, which synchronously regulate a group of genes related to lactose metabolism.
The product of Lac I is called lac repressor. When the repressor binds to the lac operator, it blocks the transcription initiation on the promoter.
