mVenus

Fluorescent protein mVenus, codon optimized for Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

Usage and Biology

mVenus is a yellow fluorescent protein derived from gfp and its derivative eYFP, which stem from Aequorea victoria. Its peak excitation wavelength is at 515 nm and it emits light of 527 nm peak wavelength1. The protein has a size of 26.9 kDa and is usually found as a monomer.

This part was characterized with the Pcpc560 Promoter in terms of fluorescence, protein product and used to test a CRIPRi-dCas9 gene knock-down in the composite part BBa_K2924036.
