PvsB - Vibrio parahaemolyticus vibrioferrin synthesis gene B
This coding sequence is part of the biosynthetic gene cluster for the synthesis and transport of the siderophore vibrioferrin. It's specific function in this process to to code for an enzyme for amide bond formation between 2-ketoglutarate and L-alanine, or L-alanine and ethanolamine (Fujita et al., 2011).
Primers for Biobrick construction and PCR amplification.
